About the Item

Late 19th century Scottish Highland Lock landscape, with Cattle watering E.Mulready was almost certainly a pseudo name for William Langley a well known English painter of landscapes from the 1890's through the 1920's This and many similar Scottish paintings became very popular with the public due to the increased interest in all things Scottish, due to Queen Victoria's house Balmoral. The paintings of the Highlands of Scotland were and still are very popular. This is a very fine example of the artists work and he has achieved a great deal of atmosphere in this work with a wonderful use of color and a multitude of brush strokes. The painting is in its original frame and is in god condition, having just been cleaned and varnished.
